Part 3: The cry that reached Heaven: Part 3

Sodom and Gomorrah and its neighboring cities Admah, and Zeboiim and Bela, five cities in total were judged.  The Bible states that brimstone and fire was sent as judgment and destruction befell these cities.  Why?   What do we really know about these cities and their grievous actions that led to judgment that led to their demise?   There are speculations by some, assumptions by others, but the truth is there for us to find.

There is detailed information about Sodom and Gomorrah in the book of Yasher (Jasher).  If you’ve never heard about the book of Yasher (Jasher) it’s a book which is mentioned in the Bible in a couple of places.  The Hebrew Word Yasher means “Upright”, hence the Book of the Upright.  Unfortunately, this book along with the books of Enoch, Jubilees, as well as others were either removed or kept from believers because it didn’t pass some men’s interpretation.  Its validity doubted and for one reason or another they did not meet with certain men’s criteria, narrative or agenda.  Unfortunately, it’s been a treasure of information hidden from believers, depriving us all of an opportunity to learn more.  Fortunately for us all, not all is loss for this book is available and can be purchased or downloaded from the internet.  Halleluyah!  This book details these grievous, wicked, sinful actions that led to their final destination.

The book of Yasher is mentioned in:

 Joshua:

Jos 10:13  So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Yashar? Thus the sun stopped in the midst of the heavens, and did not hasten to go down for an entire day.

Also, in:

2Sa 1:18  and he ordered “The Bow” to be taught to the children of Yehuḏah. See, it is written in the Book of Yashar

According to scripture Sodom and Gomorrah were two of Ham’s descendents; the places they settled became cities named after them, located in the plains by Jordan, written about in Genesis chapter 18 and 19.

In Genesis chapter 13 we read about the separation between Abraham and Lot, Lot’s choice of settling in the plains by Jordan, Sodom and Gomorrah) where the land looked well watered.  (Note for future reference not everything that looks pleasant to the eye is necessarily pleasant).

We read in the book of Yasher:

The girl cried out and it reached heaven…………….
